Congolose singers celebrate close of 'Powerdown Project'

Music from Congolese singers will help celebrate the close of GV Community Energy’s (GVCE) “Powerdown Project”.

The singers will perform at the Friday, May 20, presentation marking the end of two years of work throughout the Goulburn Valley that was part of broader project instituted under the Federal Government’s Low Income Energy Efficiency Program.

The “Powerdown Project” was set up by GV Community Energy after it received a $1.5 million grant from the Federal Government.

Explaining the May 20 “Celebration Luncheon”, the GVCE chief executive officer, Mr Geoff Lodge, said: “This is a closing chapter of over two years work funded by the Australian government, where we conducted 1,032 home energy assessments and seminars to 500 people.

“We have some interesting learnings to share!” he said.

The celebration luncheon will be held at St Paul’s African House in Shepparton’s Popular Avenue where, according to Mr Lodge, “The food, company and presentations will be of interest as we collectively move towards a low carbon economy.”
