I have just watched Malcolm Turnbull’s online ad about how his dad
loved him, but I am blowed if I can work out its message. The written note said
we should do the best for our children and grandchildren and vote for a secure
future for them.
Everyone would agree that we want the best for our children and
grandchildren. And loving them deeply goes without question. However, the ad
does not address how we can provide them with a world that is safe from the
impending disaster associated with climate change. This has been clearly
forecast and it is this that will undermine the economic platforms being
proposed. Loving your kids? What protection is that if you ignore climate
change?
