Prof Brian Cox is not here (Shepparton), but he is here, talking climate change

Professor Brian Cox.
Shepparton’s Slap Tomorrow recently invited Professor Brian Cox to visit the city and talk about climate change.

Sydney’s Celebrity Speakers approached University of Manchester physicist, and Advanced Fellow of particle physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy, but he was unable to visit Australia, again.

The professor had just completed a tour in Australia to celebrate science with the ABC, during which he appeared on Q&A and he demolished Australian One Nation Senator Michael Roberts, a climate change denier.

Here, Professor Cox chairs a discussion about climate change organized by the University of Reading which was part of the larger conversation – “Science matters”.

With him were Sir Brian Hoskins (a British dynamical meteorologist and climatologist based at the Imperial College London and the University of Reading who is a mathematician by training); Professor Kate Jones (British biodiversity scientist, with a special interest in bats. She holds the Chair in Ecology and Biodiversity jointly at University College London and the Zoological Society of London); Oliver Morton (science writer at The Economist and an author); and Professor Keith Shine (from the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading).

(This runs for nearly 90 minutes, but it is worth your time – Robert McLean)
