| The Paris Agreement on climate change entered into force last November. |
A statement of two centuries ago by Karl Marx summed up decisions taken just this week by nations at the G20 summit in Germany.
Those at the Baden-Baden resort, have dropped from a joint statement any mention of financing action on climate change, reportedly following pressure from the US and Saudi Arabia.
Marx, writing in “The Communist Manifesto” said: “The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie.”
The Independent said: “Finance ministers from the G20, which comprises more than 80 percent of the global economy, debated the wording of their final joint statement on trade at their summit “.
Read the story by Jon Sharman on the Independent - “US 'forces G20 to drop any mention of climate change' in joint statement.”
