Government's claims its policies have protected Great Barrier Reef are fraudulent

Claims by Australia’s Federal Government that its policies have seen the Great Barrier Reef avoid being declared endangered are, at best, fraudulent.

Much chest beating and whopping and hollowing by Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg has been greeted with disdain by environmental bodies, including Australia’s Climate Council, who argue that as the most serious threat, climate change, has not even been mentioned, or seemingly even considered by UNESCO world heritage committee.

Mr Frydenberg said the decision was a “big win” for Australia.
