‘Out of control': Businesses fear heatwave havoc will continue

The country's small business council is calling for a round table to discuss power security and extreme heat as business owners report heatwaves are costing them thousands.

says he has no choice but to shut up shop in a heat wave.
"What we have now is the issue that these extremes are just going on for so long. The outages are a big issue, but there's also the occupational health and safety issue: if the temperature is too high, you're going to send your staff home," Peter Strong, head of the Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia, said.
