“If my country dies, I lose myself, I lose my identity, I lose my purpose,” she says.
Despite her fears, Dixon is one of an increasing number of young women leading the climate justice movement. Without waiting for politicians, they are leading strikes, joining sit-ins, and starting conversations everywhere from schoolyards to remote communities.
