Abbott led government threatens Australia's climate change mitigation efforts

The potential election of a Tony Abbott led Coalition Government in September could be the end of Australia’s efforts to mitigate climate change.

Wind farms such as this could
be a thing of the past if the Abbott
lead government is elected
in September.
Not only would an Abbott Government encourage the expansion of everything that worsens climate change, but according to the proposed head of his Business Advisory Council, Maurice Newman, Australia’s renewable energy target would be “trashed”.

The threat Newman brings to Australia struggle with our changing climate is discussed in the story headed: “Hello Newman, so longrenewables?”

A report in the “Climate Spectator” quoting the Guardian Australia, Newman has said:  “When we look at the science it no longer supports the global warming theory and when we look at the health and economic effects of wind farms and the obscene wealth transfer from poor to rich we have to ask: why are we persisting with them?”
“I think it is a crime against the people,” Newman said.
