Talking with an optimistic Al Gore

Al Gore.
Al Gore was probably the fellow who first brought climate change to the notice of most people.

The former U.S. vice-president did that through the launch of his film, “An Inconvenient Truth” in 2006, proving to be the first major public effort to alert the general population to the evolving difficulty.

Gore was, however, not first for former head of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, James Hansen, warned the American Congress of global warming in the early 1980s.

Gore, though, is still probably the best known and continues to have significant influence on public opinion.

In this Washington Post interview headed: “Al Gore explains why he’s optimistic about stopping global warming”, the former vice-president said that frequent appearance of extreme weather events is changing public opinion.
