Tunisia acts and we stride backwards

Australia’s decision makers shun the science that alerts us to climate change, but in Tunisia the human-induced change to the world’s climate has been embedded in that country’s constitution.

A story published on the website RTCC (Responding to Climate Change) headed: “Tunisia embeds climate change in constitution” tells of a vote by that country’s parliament to make it only the third in the world to have a legal commitment to tackling climate change causes and impacts.

The contrast between what is happening here in Australia and Tunisia is not only stark, but alarming.
