'Unseasonable' rain just as predicted by climate scientists

Downpours unimaginable to most, left parts
of Queensland under water
but didn't break the grip of drought.
Downpours aligned with climate change and predicted by climate scientists drenched northern Queensland over the weekend.

The remarkable falls have been described as “unseasonable” with some areas receiving three to five time their July average in just one day.

Yeppoon’s July rainfall record had stood at 154 millimetres and that was easily outstripped when 252 mm fell in the 24 hours to 9:00am on Sunday.
