It is so cold in the United States right now that sharks are dying and turtles are cold-stunned.

Sharks are washing up on a beach in Massachusetts frozen completely solid amid a record-breaking cold snap in the United States.

This shark washed up on a snowy beach off Cape Cod Bay today.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said it had found three dead thresher sharks stranded on the shore of the Cape Cod Bay in Brewster, south of Boston, in the last three days.

The first two were "likely stranded due to cold shock" it said. The third was frozen solid.

“Human imbecility” was the term employed by Noam Chomsky when discussing the world community’s response to nuclear proliferation and climate change.

In what was a rather depressing, but elucidating lecture, entitled “After the Electoral Extravaganza”, Professor Chomsky was at the lecturn for nearly 90 minutes discussing our intellectual inadequacies, in a kindly manner coupled with some sound and good advice, and answering questions from the obviously rapt audience.

The lecture, given on just the 18^th of last month, was held at the Harvard-Epworth Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Teens tackle governments over climate change inaction

hey can't vote yet, but dozens of young people want a say in the planet's future, so minors nationwide have been suing states and the federal government in recent years to push action on climate change.

They say their generation will bear the brunt of global warming and that government at every level has an obligation to protect natural resources, including the atmosphere, as a "public trust" for future generations.

The Oregon-based non-profit Our Children's Trust has been leading efforts to file lawsuits or administrative petitions in every state and against the federal government. Some of the youth-led cases have been dismissed, while others are pending in states including Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Oregon.
